RWE Pembroke Power Station
The station has a net capacity of 2,181 MW, enough to power around 4 million homes – more than twice the number of households in Wales. The state-of-the-art CCGT technology means that Pembroke is one of the largest and most efficient plants of its kind in Europe. It produces less than half the CO2 emissions compared to a coal-fired power station. Also, the flexible technology means that Pembroke can quickly respond to the market demand and provide a highly flexible and reliable power source to meet the country’s requirements.
Project Summary
Enigma Industrial Services have been present on-site since 2010 when the power station was constructed. The team on-site currently deliver a varied set of services from access solutions, thermal insulation, painting, cleaning, plant hire and many more specialist ad-hoc requirements. Our contract with Client RWE has evolved over the year’s to become more like a partnership arrangement. Enigma is integral to the station success and works closely with station engineering teams who lead a lean approach to maximise value and savings.
Value Engineering
Our philosophy to challenge the standard approach to everyday tasks has driven savings that are evident with operating efficiencies at the station. Successfully planning outage work has achieved a significant reduction in downtimes for the power stations five units. Enigma Industrial Services has worked closely with RWE at Pembroke Power Station to invest in plant which adds value and gains efficiencies through time and new techniques, resulting in improved development for the site team and reduced risk of downtime for the station.
