Project Description
Cameron House, Loch Lomond, Restoration Project
Primary contractor ISG was appointed to fully restore Cameron House a Luxury Scottish five-star resort that was formerly a 17th-century mansion located on the idyllic Loch Lomond. The complex restoration project required meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail to refurbish and reinstate rooms to their former splendour.
Enigma Industrial Services were appointed to be the sole provider of temporary access solutions on-site by ISG. Also, throughout the ongoing works, Enigma’s in-house Design & Engineering team continued to provide on-site support with innovative economical solutions for complex problems.
For example, during the façade retention phase before demolition and reinstatement works could commence, Enigma provided a stabilising restraint to the existing walls by limiting intrusive ties as far as reasonably practical to the historic building. The erected scaffold helped to structurally support the building walls from collapsing and kentledge was installed to prevent the scaffold from overturning. Enigma worked closely with the client and their engineers by agreeing to install kentledge utilising scaffold stillage component fitting bins filled with scrap metal to considerably reduce costs.
Also, to ensure primary contractor ISG could maintain their work schedule programme and conduct interior refurbishment requirements. Enigma provided a full encapsulation around the scaffold structure and erected a temporary roof to provide protection against adverse weather conditions, enabling work to continue throughout the winter months without disruption.
Additionally, Enigma has provided temporary access solutions on-site to fully refurbish the indoor leisure facility, restore a historic walled garden and construct a new accommodation building at the prestigious hotel.
Throughout the hotel restoration project, the Enigma Glasgow access team working on-site continually provided a safety-first service and they achieved the highest score on ISG Construction Scotland’s subcontractor H&S league table in May 2021.
