Apprentice Design Engineer, Scott Campbell joined Enigma in January 2022 and will be undertaking the Graduate Apprenticeship BEng Honours course in Civil Engineering at the University of the West of Scotland. Scott will start the University course in September, to support his professional career development and the training will assist him in contributing to solving problems on real projects.
Enigma Engineering Manager, Fraser Freeburn commented “Scott has settled in well within the design department and has spent the first few months working on his drafting skills using AutoCAD. We are pleased with Scott’s progress and eagerness to learn, he’s now starting to produce layout designs for housing and flatted blocks in both kwikstage and HAKI system scaffold”.
Throughout the industry, many people assume that most engineers don’t have any practical experience, however, at Enigma, all apprentice engineers spend time on client sites to undergo training. As part of his apprenticeship, Scott will have site placements to gain practical experience on various projects using HAKI, Kwikstage as well as tube and fitting.
Scott completed his (COTS) CISRS Operative Training Scheme course at the end of January and is pictured on-site at Strathclyde University working on the Curran Building for our client Clark Contracts.
